2025 London International Boundary Conference
12-13 June 2025
Call For Papers
Deadline: 21 April 2025
The seventh edition of London International Boundary Conference ("LIBC VII") will take place on 12 and 13 June 2025. The LIBC provides a unique and multidisciplinary insight into the complex world of international boundary and territorial questions. Like previous LIBC conferences, speakers and participants at LIBC VII will be drawn from the fields of law, social sciences, physical sciences and diplomacy.
King's College London (the Department of Geography) and Volterra Fietta invite scholars, practitioners, government officials and others who are interested in the field of international boundaries, and who would like to be a speaker on one of the LIBC VII panels, to submit an abstract of their potential presentation to info@LondonInternationalBoundaryConference.com.
The panel topics for LIBC VII are:
- Non-lawyer contributions to boundary and territorial dispute settlement
- Maritime boundaries and hydrocarbons
- African boundaries and territorial conflicts: into the mid-21st century
- Borders, territories and an increasingly "lawless" world
- Borderlands and frontier resources
- Territorial foundation of the Gulf States
The deadline to submit an abstract is 21 April 2025. Abstracts must be written in English. The text should contain no more than 250 words and no footnotes. Submissions should additionally set out the title of the paper, which of the panels would be most suited to the presentation, as well as the name, title, affiliation and contact details of the author. Authors should also indicate whether they would participate in-person or virtually.
LIBC VII will take a hybrid format, with both virtual and in-person participation possible. The full schedule of LIBC VII will be published soon.
Once abstracts have been reviewed, authors of selected abstracts will be invited to submit their paper and participate in one of the conference panels.
